Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Arrival in Maun

  • Pick-up from Maun Airport or your lodge.
  • Safari briefing by your guide and welcome dinner.
  • Overnight at a campsite on the Thamalakane River.
  • Meals: Dinner

Day 2 – Maun to Moremi Game Reserve (South Gate)

  • Depart early in 4×4 safari vehicle.
  • Enter Moremi Game Reserve – renowned for elephants, lions, and rare wild dogs.
  • Afternoon game drive en route to campsite.
  • Overnight wild camping inside Moremi.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3 – Explore Moremi (Xakanaxa or Third Bridge)

  • Morning and afternoon game drives in the heart of the Delta.
  • Optional mokoro activity (if water levels allow).
  • Look out for leopards, buffalo, hippos, and birds.
  • Sunset around the campfire.

Day 4 – Moremi to Khwai Community Area

  • Scenic drive through Moremi into Khwai.
  • Game viewing along river channels.

Day 5 – Khwai to Guma Lagoon (Panhandle)

  • Overnight at a community-run or bush camp near the lagoon.

Day 6 – Guma to Tsodilo Hills

  • Depart for Tsodilo Hills, Botswana’s only UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Arrive by afternoon and begin exploring the “Mountains of the Gods.”

  • Overnight at community campsite at the base of the hills.

Day 7 – Full Exploration of Tsodilo Hills

  • Guided hike through Male, Female, and Child Hills.
  • Learn about San mythology, archaeology, and rituals.
  • Optional visit to the small Tsodilo Museum.
  • Sundowner walk or photography session.

Day 8 – Return to Maun (via Nxamasere or Sehithwa)
