10-Day Itinerary Delta Wild Northern Expedition

Day 1: Maun – Moremi Game Reserve – (Xakanaxa Region)- Chobe

Accommodation: Delta EcoWild Explorer Tents
Activities: Afternoon Game Drive
Arrival: Charter flight from Maun to Xakanaxa airstrip (approx. 14:00); meet your Delta EcoWild guide upon arrival
Wildlife Highlights: Elephants, buffalo, red lechwe, hippo, and possibly African wild dogs
Birding: Tawny Eagle, African Hawk-Eagle, Hornbills, Cuckoos, Whydahs, Honeyguides
Habitat: Rich mosaic of floodplains, lagoons, mopane woodlands, and savannah

Days 2–3: Moremi Game Reserve (Xakanaxa Region)

Accommodation: Delta EcoWild Explorer Tents
Activities: Morning and afternoon game drives
Wildlife Highlights: Large buffalo herd, multiple lion prides, elephant herds, red lechwe.
Birding: Slaty Egret, Wattled Crane, African Skimmer, Coucals, Crakes.
Notes: Explore the heart of Moremi’s game-rich channels and woodlands.

Day 4: Moremi → Mababe Private Reserve (via Khwai)

Accommodation: Delta EcoWild Explorer Tents
Activities: Scenic transfer drive, mokoro excursion, game drives
Route: Journey through Moremi and Khwai; stop at Dombo Hippo Pools.
Wildlife Highlights: Elephant bulls, leopard, lion, cheetah, hippos, crocodiles.
Birding: Long-legged Bustard, Black Coucal, African Crake, Yellow-breasted Apalis.

Days 5–6: Mababe Private Reserve

Accommodation: Delta EcoWild Private Campsite
Activities: Day & night game drives, mokoro, seasonal walking safaris
Wildlife Highlights: Lions, leopards, African wildcat, elephants, roan and sable antelope.
Birding: Bat-Hawk, Cuckoo Hawk, Rosy-throated Longclaw, Painted Snipe, Lesser Jacana.
Notes: Exclusive activities like night drives and bush walks available only in the private reserve.

Day 7: Mababe → Central Chobe (Savuti Region)

Accommodation: Delta EcoWild Explorer Tents
Activities: Full-day game drive with picnic stop
Route: Cross the Magwikwe Sand Ridge and Mababe Depression.
Wildlife Highlights: Cheetahs, lions, elephants, possible wild dogs.
Habitat: Ancient lakebeds, dry mopane woodlands, grasslands, and sand ridges.

Days 8–9: Central Chobe (Savuti)

Accommodation: transfer to our partner lodge in Kasane in the evening
Activities: Game drives, guided walk to San rock paintings
Wildlife Highlights: Lion vs. elephant interactions, large lion prides, cheetah, hyenas.
Birding: Montagu’s Harrier, Amur Falcon, Red-necked Falcon, sandgrouse.
Habitat: Rocky outcrops, dry channels, seasonal marsh, open plains.

Day 10: Central Chobe → Kasane (Chobe River Front)

Activities: morning Chobe River boat cruise then await transfers to flights
End of Safari: Concludes in Kasane
