From salt pans and ancient woodlands to mighty rivers and predator-rich grasslands, Delta Ecowild Safaris takes you deep into Botswana’s most iconic landscapes — and beyond. Each destination offers a different rhythm, a different story, and a unique kind of adventure.
Central Kalahari Game Reserve
The Soul of Untamed Botswana
The Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR) is the largest in Southern Africa, covering over 52,000 square kilometres of unspoiled terrain. It’s raw, vast, and truly remote — a place where silence stretches for miles and the horizon feels infinite.
Chobe River & Savuti
Where Giants Roam
Chobe National Park is famous for hosting Africa’s largest elephant population — more than 100,000. Along the riverfront, elephants often gather and cross the waters in dramatic fashion, especially at sunset. South of the river lies Savuti, where lions, hyenas, and leopards roam the open plains in fierce competition.
Why Visit Chobe?
Best Time
Wildlife viewing peaks March–November (dry season) as animals gather around waterholes.
River Safaris
Cruise along the Chobe River for front-row views of hippos, crocs, buffalo, and water birds.
Floodplain Grazing
The Caprivi floodplains draw large herds — and the predators that stalk them.
This is Chobe. Wild. Untamed. Unmissable.
Khwai Concession
Explore the Untamed Beauty of Khwai – Delta EcoWild Style
Nestled between Chobe National Park and Moremi Game Reserve, the Khwai Community Concession is a hidden gem of the Okavango Delta — a rich mosaic of floodplains, ancient woodlands, sparkling lagoons, and the lifeline of the region: the magnificent Khwai River.
This area is known for its abundant wildlife, from elusive leopards and wild dogs to large herds of elephants and buffalo. Predator-prey interactions unfold across the open plains and along the riverbanks, offering unforgettable sightings in a raw and cinematic setting.
Best time to visit: February to mid-December, with prime wildlife viewing from March to November, when animals concentrate along the Delta’s permanent waters and the terrain opens up for clear, unobstructed sightings. At Delta EcoWild Safari, you don’t just visit the wilderness — you live in it. Join us in Khwai, where each day brings a new discovery, and each night a new story under starlit African skies.

Moremi Game Reserve
The Heart of the Okavango, Preserved by Its People
At the centre of the Okavango Delta lies a place rich in both wildlife and legacy. Moremi Game Reserve is Africa’s first wildlife reserve to be established by a local community. In 1963, the Batawana people of Ngamiland — led by the visionary widow of Chief Moremi III, Mrs. Moremi — responded to the threat of overhunting and habitat loss by protecting their ancestral land. The result was a powerful act of conservation leadership, and the only officially protected area within the Delta.
Covering around 3,900 square kilometres, Moremi is a diverse landscape where land and water merge to create something extraordinary. The reserve is a blend of:
Seasonal and permanent floodplains
Meandering waterways and lagoons
Clear pools, pans, and wetlands
Open grasslands and mopane forests
This mosaic of ecosystems supports an exceptional variety of wildlife — from lions, leopards, and wild dogs to massive herds of elephants, buffalo, and every major herbivore of the region. With over 400 bird species, including rare migratory and endangered birds, it’s also one of the Delta’s most rewarding destinations for birdwatchers.
With Delta EcoWild Safari, you don’t just visit Moremi — you connect with a living legacy shaped by cultural pride and a community’s passion for protection. Every drive here is a journey through nature, history, and the heart of Botswana’s conservation story.
Delta EcoWild’s Salt Pan Safari: Flamingos, Baobabs & Endless Horizons
Overview:
Step into a world where time stands still and nature paints its grandest canvases. Delta EcoWild’s Salt Pan Safari invites you to discover the stark beauty and unique wildlife of the Makgadikgadi and Nxai Pans National Parks — two of Botswana’s most otherworldly landscapes — and explore the sanctuary haven of Nata.
Why This Safari is Unmissable
The Salt Pan Spectacle
Once a vast prehistoric lake, the Makgadikgadi Pans now offer an expansive, surreal backdrop where nature performs in silence and space. In the rainy season, this lunar-like terrain erupts with life — herds of zebra, wildebeest, and springbok arrive, while flamingos and pelicans turn the shallow waters into a living artwork of colour and motion.
Baines Baobabs – Guardians of Time
Visit Nxai Pan and stand before the legendary Baines Baobabs, immortalised in the 1800s by explorer Thomas Baines. These ancient trees have stood sentry over the pans for over a thousand years — a truly humbling sight.
Meerkat Magic
Catch the sunrise with a meerkat family! In selected eastern areas of the Makgadikgadi, encounter habituated meerkats in their natural habitat — watching them forage, play, and scan the horizon is an unforgettable highlight.
The Boteti River – Dry Season Lifeline
As the dry season intensifies, the Boteti River becomes a critical wildlife corridor, drawing in elephants, antelope, and predators alike. It’s a rare river in a desert — offering remarkable game viewing in contrast to the open pans.
Nata Bird Sanctuary & Crossroad Retreat
Located perfectly between Maun and Kasane, Nata makes for an ideal rest stop. When its pans flood, the Nata Bird Sanctuary transforms into one of Africa’s most dramatic avian spectacles, with thousands of flamingos, pelicans, ducks, and geese gathered against breathtaking sunsets.
